Leon Beda takes third at Duns and Tyler Soar “Dun” it again!
Team ATV World Yamaha rider Leon Beda secured overall third place at this weekend’s thrilling round two of the ACU British MMX Quad Championships.
Held at Duns motocross circuit in Scotland, the riders and machines were pushed hard by the demanding track. Both Adult and Youth competitions took place over the weekend with ATV World Yamaha rider Tyler Soar winning both British Youth QuadCross championship races.
John Mitchell started well in race one and finished in third place on his ATV World Yamaha Laeger’s YFZ450, followed by other ATV World Yamaha riders, Leon Beda in fourth and Ricky Tordoff in sixth. There were promising results also for Sean Goss 14th, Dean Thompson 19th and Josh Barrett who despite being injured mid-week, finished 23rd.
In race two, John Mitchell got a poor start and during the first lap, locked wheels with another rider and was off his quad. “It was light’s out for me” add John who also injured his shoulder in the fall. Leon finished again in a superb fourth place, taking third overall with Ricky finishing in seventh. Sean Goss 14th, Dean Thompson 16th and Josh Barrett 24th.
ATV World Yamaha youth rider Tyler Soar aged 15 did it again at the ACU British Youth QuadCross championships at Dunns in Scotland this weekend.
Tyler qualified third on the grid in the 250cc 4 stroke class and in race one was third in to the first corner quickly dispelling the second place rider to set himself ready to hound the leading bike. By lap three it was in the bag, as a sweet pass saw Tyler move in to first place and take a comfortable win, Tyler's riding was faultless as he took the jumps and whoop sections smoothly and with precision, especially impressive with the knowledge that his gear shift had jammed in third half way through the race.
Race two followed a similar format with being third in to the corner and again second place within the first lap, Tyler toyed with his prey for a few laps then by lap four he struck and took the first place position, then opened up the lead to finish five seconds ahead.
Tyler's dad Jed said: “He makes me and his mum Kim a bag of nerves nowadays; I ask him why he doesn't get ahead sooner only to be told by Tyler “chill out dad I Know what I'm doing".
ATV World youth rider Chris Morris also had a good day racing in the 250 modified class finishing third in race one, third in race two and third overall.
In the British Qualifier races team rider Tom Wolanin took ninth in the first race and finish first in a thrilling race two. Special mention to Ben “Raging Bull” Richmond who stayed on his bike to finish first and second place in the support races. A great return to racing after being out with a knee injury.
ATV World sponsored rider Don Maciver has also been in action recently winning round two of the Support Nett Quad Championships on his Yamaha YFZ450.
ATV World Yamaha riders will next be in action for round two of the Scottish Quad Racing Championship, April 26th at Roscobie Farm, near Knockhill. Meanwhile, Tyler Soar now takes a weekend off before travelling to Oxford for round four of the ACU Southern Area Championships Hope to see you there!
