Norfolk youth quad rider Tyler Soar enjoyed a fantastic opening race at round 4 of the Southern ACU quad cross championships at Arncott Oxfordshire.
He holeshot and quickly opened up a lead that never put him under any chance of being challenged, he finished well ahead of the pack to bank another 40 points in an already swelling championship points tally.
Race two and three threw mixed fortunes with a stall on the line in race two and a hot engine that refused to start for nearly 20 seconds Tyler was left to chase and chase he did tearing through the pack, passing where on the very one line track showed technical brilliance got him within a third of a lap of the leader in only a lap and a half, only to have his race curtailed by a back marker stopping dead on a corner forcing tyler to take avoiding action and again stalling, with his engine this time taking longer to fire up.
He finished 4th after restarting and you could see the frustration etched on his face after the organisers cut the race short by 5 minutes for the second time this season.

Race three saw Tyler having an unfavourable position on the grid due to his finish in race two, but got him into the first corner as one of the front runners only to have two quads on the very same corner he had come a cropper, had come together and leave him nowhere to go but to join them.
After getting untangled Tyler set off at a blistering pace again to destroy the field and pull the leading bikes in to view, yet again though the race was cut short by at least five minutes so Tyler had to settle for a well earned third.
Tylers next outing is Sunday May 17th which sees him contest round three of the North east ACU quad cross championships, this one is an important one, as he missed race one of the first round and a good weekend of wins would put Tyler on top of leader board taking it to three championship leads- no pressure then. |
