Tyler plays with the big boys
Norfolk's ATV World youth rider Tyler Soar took his first step in the lead up to joining the adult ranks next year, by competing in the Midlands based MX27 racing at Mallory Park Leicestershire on Sunday and showed they better watch out.
Tyler riding his ATV World fully race tuned Yamaha YZF450 took a very respectable third overall. After taking a baptism of fire last weekend at the British quad x championships held at Blaxhall pits Suffolk where he took his first ride on his more powerful 450 quad he struggled with suspension set up on a very rutty track.
During the week his father and mechanic Jed undertook the suspension adjustments under advice from ATV Worlds Martin Fletcher, the YZF450 was a different animal to ride on Sunday, not dissimilar to his 250 hybrid but just bags more power.
Its going to take the winter to get to grips with the extra weight and power but tyler is loving the extra speed and grunt of a fully tuned Yamaha YZF450.
Tyler heads to the North East again this coming weekend with a double header on Saturday and Sunday, to campaign the North East ACU quad cross championships at Rowley Co Durham.
