Tyler takes 3rd overall in Southern Area QX Champ
Norfolk quad ace Tyler soar aged 16 hit the adult ranks this weekend in the ACU Southern area quad cross championships, at the fast paced Wroxton MX track in Oxfordshire where he achieved a podium postion with a 3rd place overall in his class.
With 32 riders on the line at the start and proiority given to last years championship riders for a front row place, Tyler knew he'd have his work cut out by being on the back row.
The gate dropped for the first race and everyone held their breath as 32 eager riders jostled for a position, Tyler took a sensible approach by not trying to fight for an almost impossible position at the front and opted to wait till the second corner to make his move.
Tyler blasted through several riders on the first straight and showed that this year he was the rookie to watch, he professionaly worked his way through the pack and rode with his usual smoothness and control to finish 3rd in his class.
Race 2 was hampered by a failed battery which stopped Tyler getting a good start, his engine set off in limp mode until enough power built up to power his ignition system, but when it did he set a blistering pace chasing the dissapearing pack then picking them off not only one at a time but often in multiples to finish a valiant 5th in his class.
Race 3 saw Tylers confidence build still with a back row start he fought through the pack to finish a well deserved second in his class.
Tylers next race on sunday the 21st of March is at one of his favourite tracks at Armthorpe Doncaster where he will campaign in the ACU North East quad cross championships.
