Saturday 1st July saw Round 4 of the Honda QRA ACU British Quad Championship at Tinker Hill Motocross Track, Newry, Northern Ireland. With a maximum of 150 points John was in a confident mood. Qualifying started well with everybody getting very good times but John was riding superbly and got the fastest lap.

As the extreme temperatures continued to rise, race one began. John settled on the first lap at third place but by lap eight had taken the lead and started to leave the competition behind,  finishing the race in first place.  Race Two saw Paul Winrow and John Mitchell battle between first and second position in a tense and exciting start. Others joined the battle making it the  closest of the season so far. It was only in the closing stages that John took control and dominated the pack, making a gap and taking first place. Although spinning twice at the same part of the track, Paul hung on to make second place. 

With 8 wins out of 8 races, John Mitchell on his team ATV World/Yamaha YFZ450 has been unstoppable this season. The bike has been faultless and perfectly tuned for every race. John and the team's hard pre season training programme has paid off and he now has a short break until the next round. July 16th. Round 5 at Matchams Park Int Circuit, Ringwood.
