Sunday 6th August saw the sixth round of the QRA British Championships held at Blaxhall Pits. With more high temperatures expected this was going to be a demanding day for both the riders and their machines. Having already won 9 from 10 races, John Mitchell was confident of more wins, the last British race for John and the ATV World team before Pont De Vaux 2006.
Having qualified in first place John got a bad start in race one and found himself back in 17th on the first lap. The track was very rough and had few passing opportunities. John worked hard and got up to second place passing Leon Beda who was leading for much of the race before he was passed by Paul Winrow and then by John.
In race two John had a better start and made eigth place into the first corner. As he came round to complete the first lap he had made his way to third position. In the second lap he took first place and began to build a commanding lead. The remaining laps were rode flawlessly and it showed with a 20 second lead over second place man Jason Macbeth.
John now leads the QRA British Championships with a staggering 49 point lead.
Thanks again for all the support from sponsors who along with their outstanding products have helped John reach an unprecedented 10 out of 12 wins this season.
